Terminator – Salvation – a failure?

The Terminator – Salvation is the fourth in the series of the Terminator; the game tells the story of how John Connor becomes the leader of humankind in the battle with the machine.

The game is displayed into the atmosphere of the future where technological advances have corrupted the world sending it into a post apocalyptic struggle for surviving. It’s a constant jump form location to location helped by vehicular transportation, meeting some metal enemies and everything confers you the feeling that your electronic equipment existing in your house turns against you.

In this series of Terminator – Salvation game the moves that you make are simple, you can jog around the places, you can dive to hide in order to get rid of the fires shot at you. There are also AI buddies that can come into your rescue in case you encounter difficult situations. The range of enemy is not that vast; there are only three main foes you fight against and they all have their vulnerable points, one type of ammunition beats the other, and some bossy characters that confers a certain challenge to the game.

The Terminator – Salvation is divided into many cinematic and clips to emphasize the fact that you play a terminator game and that it is not actually a totally independent game, even if it takes 6 hours to complete!

Some features may be taken into account: the good – this game is definitely a cool one, with this boss character that imposes a challenge; the bad – repetitive, too short, graphics not very impressive, one doesn’t get the feeling of a tension induced by drama or excitement, the ugly – in some parts the game seems to be half finished as if they hurried to get faster over it, without paying attention to accurate details.

Summing up: unfortunately the Terminator - Salvation doesn’t raise at the fullest of one’s expectations! Maybe the next one?
