The Funny URL Generator

They are links that lead to totally different website which are not related one to another in any way. I’m sure you think this isn’t possible. Well, it really wasn’t possible until about one week ago when the guys at GreenPixel launched the http://icanhaz.me website.

Some of you may think that this website is pointless but if you’re looking for an idea of unconventional publicity then you got something free here. http://icanhaz.me can generate funny links to a website that you choose by entering a keyword or a simple phrase into the link generator. You will notice that you have 2 white spaces when you access this website. In the first one, you have to enter a word, like bubbles. It can also be a phrase like “I love chocolate”. In the second blank space, you need to copy paste any link from any website you like and the icanhaz website will associate the keyword you wrote with the addressed that you inserted.

For instance, let’s say you want another funny link hat will lead to your hi5 profile. Choose a keyword or phrase like ‘’sexy” or “super cool” and below copy and paste the link which leads to your hi5 profile. If the keyword or phrase has not been taken already, you will have a new link http://icanhaz.me/sexy and every one that clicks it will get to see your hi5 profile. It’s funny because the icanhaz links are general and the ones that access them probably have no idea to which website it is redirected. The word is spreading out pretty fast so you’d better hurry if there is any keyword in particular that you like. There is a good chance someone else will choose it for their website if you don’t hurry up and get it for yourself.

Your icanhaz link will be up and running for about 30 days and when that period expires, the link will be deleting from the icanhaz data base and you can choose it again… and again… and again. The whole story becomes even funniest when the word in the link has absolutely no connection whatsoever with the website to which you are redirected. I remember clicking http://icanhaz.me/bing and it lead me to my Google home page. But there is also a selection of some very interesting and fun websites.

For example, http://icanhaz.me/icons will lead you to the “icon factory” where you can find lots of collectibles you’re going to love. http://icanhaz.me/chuck-norris led to a website filled with Chuck Norris facts that made me laugh for half an hour and really made my day. http://icanhaz.me is definitely one very original website that will help you generate traffic to your blog while you randomly browse some cool websites. And I’ve heard that pretty soon, the guys at GreenPixel are going to let us keep our funny URLs forever.
