The Video Game Cheat, Punished!

You know what I hate more than politics and lousy music? No, it's not bad computer games, but it's still connected with the gaming realm... It's cheaters! If you can't play it fair, then don't play it! At least don't get into multiplayer games using cheats and ruin other's fun... because I must confess I used trainers once or twice, when playing various single player games and running into some level/mission that I didn't manage to finish once, twice, and sometimes not even from the 11th try or beyond...

...but I would never cheat when playing an online game, and that's not a subject to any later changes! After all, everyone starts from 0(or "noob," if you want to call it that way) in such games, and it's all about the skill. Of course, while some people spend their time playing and developing that skill, others end up finding some video game cheat online, and using it. Not fair at all, if you ask me.

Fortunately, cheaters usually end up being banned, as it just happened with a bunch of Battle.net users. A few days ago, Blizzard made public the information that over 350,000 StarCraft and Diablo II accounts were closed for using third-party hacks. That's great news for decent gamers, and really bad news for cheaters.

Here's what Blizzard said:
"As part of our continued effort to ensure a fair and fun online experience for all Battle.net players, we have expanded our efforts to remove cheaters from StarCraft and Diablo II. We have identified and closed over 350,000 StarCraft and Diablo II accounts which were found to be using third-party hacks.

The Diablo II CD keys associated with the closed Diablo II accounts are now restricted from playing on Battle.net for approximately 30 days. Repeat offenders will have their accounts closed and their CD keys permanently banned from Battle.net. As a reminder, we reserve the right to close the accounts and ban the CD keys of players who are caught cheating on Battle.net. Cheating ruins the game experience for legitimate players, and we will not tolerate it.
"

Congratulations! I would rather get twice the spam I currently get and enjoy clean online games, than having to face cheaters... wouldn't you?
