WoW: Swifty’s Incredible Warrior Tricks
Quite some time ago when WoW was young and patch v1.11 ruled the game, when The Burning Crusade was just a myth and everybody was merrily farming Ahn'Qiraj there was a young and ambitious nightelf warrior called Swifty. You see, Swifty was a member of a high end PvP guild called Infamous and was keen on turning a losing battle into an easy win just through clever use of game mechanics. Some call it exploiting, while others think it's the only way to play the game – smart. Well, Swifty is the kind of guy that likes to use every little dirty trick available to him so he set off to make a video of his PvP activities as a High Warlord. Thus “Incredible Warrior Tricks” was born, a video that actually stood up to its name and delivered. In fact, it was so good, that Blizzard caught up with it and eventually fixed some of the loopholes in certain items and scripts that enabled Swifty to work his magic.
The same goes for The Skull of Impending Doom, an obscure offhand item that could be acquired roughly at level 40 and increases its usefulness at the maximum level. It can be activated as a trinket so basically you would pop it up whenever you get sheeped or seduced, since the effect will do damage and get you out of those crowd control effects. In v1.11 the item would do relatively low damage and thus was free for use even against fear mechanics. As you can see, Blizzard altered the item later as now the damage has been increased and would probably kill you if you’re not paying attention. It’s actually a good thing since death by using this item will give you no armor damage and can be used successfully in raid for a repair bill free game. Remember that you can still break sheep and seduce if you only let it tick once, since the buff that appears on use can be cancelled, leaving you roughly with 1000 less hit points.
His last trick is actually not related to wither warriors or PvP, but it’s a neat cosmetic change to your character. If you want to add more cool-factor to your avatar, here’s what you need to do. First off you drink an elixir which increases your strength by a lot. Then use a scroll of strength on yourself and move your character forward exactly when clicking the scroll. It’s important that your scroll strength gains are less than the scroll’s so they won’t be applied. It will somehow bug and give you glowing hands, an aura that trails behind as you walk, not unlike a Thunderfury animation. Replace the appropriate elixir and scrolls with other stats for a different color. The good news is this still works.
Swifty’s tale doesn’t end here. As time passed and The Burning Crusade came out, he though about making yet another clip with new and amazing warrior tricks, and he did. The problem with fame and popularity is that eventually you will feel superior for the wrong reasons and that was Swifty’s downfall. You see, he charged people money to see the second video, by form of premium membership subscription to his site. The official WoW forums saw great feedback as players were appalled by the decision and contested his actions. As it turned out, many of the duels were staged giving nothing more than entertainment value and his new tricks weren’t even vaguely warrior related, instead following the fine line between smart play and exploit. You never know if Blizzard is going to ban you or turn a blind eye should you use those tricks. Watch the trailer and decide for yourself if Swifty’s controversial character is a fake or the real deal. One thing is for sure though; his fame took the plunge when getting greedy as Swifty went from a WoW warrior figurehead to being just another anonymous player with delusions of grandeur. Rest in peace.

Well to be entirely honest with you Swifty (John is hes real name) is not entirely at fault here, im a real friend of John - Swifty and it was all an idea hes brother had to make some buck and he at first was uneasy but hes brother convinced him to do it and it was a complete failure. Hes brother gave him all the money for server and all that and hes website got hacked the next day of launch so hes brother only barely made hes money back and Swifty got hes name and rep destroyed ill say he made a bad choice but hes still a good guy at heart and even tho i told him not to do that he let hes brother convince him on doing it shame he had so many fans...

Such personal details are beyond my grasp as you can imagine. I agree that Swifty did a good job in his videos and hope to see more, but charging money for the second one was a bad choice. In the end, not even a 9 million player market can take up such an effort, when you don't get enough for your buck. On the other hand, with regular vids out, a steady flow of WoW related articles and strong promotion techinques, the outcome could have been different. Cheers.

WarcraftMovies.com is filled with some of the most incredible displays of skill in WoW. Why would one pay to get something that's usually free? It's pretty much similar to gold selling, with the slight difference that Blizzard can't do anything about it. I'm sorry if you don't feel this way, but charging money and getting away with it implies doing things professionally. Swifty's site is still on a fan-site level.

Dear Kampfaren, this is swifty(darkspear) ill fill you in on what going on> first of all the website was not a falure-- i have a huge fan base... bigger than i ever thought. Even after the release of my first video, i could not play the game at all without getting spammed tells constantly. The website is a place where i can answer questions from the fans. I have my own forrums and i post videos every week. Its a whole lot better than trying to post on the wow forrums -(everyone knows what i mean by that) The website is also paying for itself, which i am pleased by. Made all the money invested back and having a couple thousand members is success to me.

to swifty(john) i may say i have seen ur first video for like every day for half a yea i simply cant stand the way u pælay its freaking awsome i saw the sequal and it was even better and i cant believe ppl are stabbing u for charging a few buck seriusly guys come on this show something else instead of just plain old pvp movies booooring and u can guess every singel move.
u cant with swifty thats the fact that makes many warriors watch and follow hes next actions.

One thing I find quite interesting is how Swifty has dealt with fame. Considering other notable players e.g. maydie, hulksmash, vurtne who all got considerable fame from there pvp videos and then disappeared. Now I'm not saying that fame was the sole reason they quit/rerolled under a different name (possibly due to boredom of wow) but i just find it quite impressive how swifty despite the good and bad press has continued on playing and doing videos.
P.s. I didnt name pat because as far as Im aware (according to armory) he is still playing, can anyone else support that?

according to what i know about maydie smahs ect all the other really good pvp wars all ic an say is well they where cool in there own way but i wanna say 1 thing::we all could do that because every singel 1 of thoose had a healer running 5 yards behind them and then its not really so psecial its all about setup but well thats my oppinion and btw as i heard maydie ebayed hes char

These guys helped make WarcraftMovies what it is today. Good stuff. But they are human and as any of us will eventually get tired of one game aspect or another and retire. For a while at least. It's not like they get payed to play WoW or anything.

I just feel that paying for something that in essence should be free is wrong. The price was not the problem the mere suggestion that we pay to join his little fan boi club just /turned me off. Other people make videos and have fame but don't say omg im a celeb now let me go charge people to see a vid with a ton of staged fights and exploit my good and original video.

Swifty's first video is what i have to watch at least once a week so i get my shit straight for arena or simply going to bgs, if what he used are hacks then I think you should look at the definition of hacks, seriously, he's using wow items and does something out of it, that's what makes an epic player from just a regular guy, was sad u did change to arms but u gotta survive in arena hehe, take care man, and I'm not a fan coz that's gay, but i have respect for what u did and hope you still do!

He should have put a free embedded YouTube video inside his website; he would have made a lot of money off of a couple barely noticeable ads, while not charging anyone. Noone would complain if they saw Google Adsense or the like on his website.

Man, Swifty is the best. I really appreciate the videos cuz its improved my warrior skills for pvp. It just sucks that it costs money to see ur new videos, but its ok, Swifty is still my hero :D

i always like swiftys videos but as time went by i started to notice things...tht kinda made his vidoes look fake/staged so i went to US darkspear to see if i cud talk to a few ppl who were involved in his vids :P i talk with Motomi who no offence was a cunt Swifty diddnt talk to me much jst inved me to a grp and sed fuck all for the whole night..so i went to talk with Heinous he seemed like an ok guy who was abit pissed tht Swifty had sed hed refused to fight him and not mentioned tht Heinous nrly killed Swifty in ironforge be4 Swifty ran away and did anyone notice tht he DIDDNT fight Takku? and if u look at takkus pvp vid it shows him pwning swifty queit easily...

Yea...ok guys ill admit it my 2nd movie is a fake i did it to get my site popular..all the fights are setup my tricks are taken from other people i do not think of them myself...sorry to be nothing but a faketo you all.
