Rocksmith, by Ubisoft is a music video game that is based on the technology in Guitar Rising. Rocksmith is much more than just a video game. Instead, it is an instructional music device that allows you to learn the guitar in a fun way. All you have to do is plug in a real electric guitar and you will be able to begin! The game is available on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms. A Windows release will be out in October 2012. If you really want to learn how to play a guitar, then this music video game is just the thing for you.

 

 

Rocksmith comes with a Hercules adapter that will allow you to connect your guitar to the PC or either of the gaming consoles. Unlike the Guitar Hero, this game is much more promising. First you will be using a real guitar instead of a plastic device. Secondly, it begins with basic tutorials such as how to hold your guitar and plectrum. It then proceeds to how to tune your guitar. Once you’re done with the basics, the game moves on to its first song - I can’t get no satisfaction by The Rolling Stones.

In the beginning you will start off with single notes and you will be given a detailed explanation on how to play. From here on, the game automatically updates the difficulty level by adding in more notes as you get better, which makes it harder to play.

The game comes with an interesting array of rock and roll songs, over 50 songs. You can even buy and download more songs online. You can find classic rock hits from famous rock bands such as The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, The Cure, Cream, The Black Keys, Tom Petty and more recent bands. Every new tune you begin playing with, are accompanied by detailed video explanations, tutorial help and practice challenges.   As you progress, different videos will be unlocked to teach you different techniques such as, string bending, palm mutes, sustains and more, associated with the songs that you are learning.

Apart from that, the game also has several mini arcade style games such as note-based hunting game, chord-based zombie shooter game. You will unlock each game and song as and when you progress through the game.  While these games are fun and entertaining, there are many hang-ups associated with it, though much of these hang-ups have nothing to do with mini-games themselves.

This is a brilliant game for anyone who loves music and wants to learn to play a guitar. But if you are looking for another fake game, then this isn’t for you! Just remember, Rocksmith doesn’t settle for anything than perfection and this could be a deterrent factor for beginners. But if you really want to learn to play the guitar, then you will need a lot of dedication and hard-work!

Lollipop Chainsaw is an action packed video game that is developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. It is a game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 video game consoles. The game is quite entertaining with all the sugar coating on the top. The game features a cheerleader Juliet Starling who is also a zombie hunter and whose mission is to fight zombies in a fictional California high school. The game is being made available by Warner Bros.

 

 

When you take a look at the box art of the game, you very well can guess what to expect. The game isn’t realistic but it isn’t going to set any new boundaries as well. If you are looking out for an adventure game filled with oodles of fun, then this game is your go-to.

In the game you will be playing as Juliet Starling - a zombie hunter just like everyone one else in her family. Juliet Starling suddenly finds her typical American school and her town overtaken by zombies. Her boyfriend’s head gets bitten by a zombie, after which she had to decapitate it and magically keep it alive. It may sound weird and absurd, but the great thing about the Lollipop Chainsaw is that it has a great sense of humor.

The foundation of the gameplay is based on two types of attacks. One the pom pom hits and chainsaw attacks. Apart from these, there is a good amount of dodging as well. But the core gameplay is all melee, but is thankfully upgradable to levels where you can battle off some great battle combos.

Another great thing about this game is that you won’t find yourself doing the same routine for very long. Every level has its unique share of mini-games and variations that will keep you engaged.

Everything about the Lollipop Chainsaw is fun, bright and cheerful, which just a bit of cell shading to add to that comic feel. Most of the paths that you play in this game are linear and has a very limited scope for exploration. But then again, that is the main aim of the game. After finishing level, you are awarded. You can pass from one level to another very quickly. The bosses in the game are slightly exaggerated, but the end combat is very satisfying in an old school way.

The old school appeal of this game makes the Lollipop Chainsaw very endearing. The game is for all those people who loves some Japanese action and would like to experience a Japanese game. However, this game isn’t for those people who find cheerleaders annoying. All in all, the Lollipop Chainsaw is a sweet game, sweeter than pie!!

It a puzzle based adventure game with strong story content. According to the storyline, people are looking for a cunning hero who is strong and brave and can really stand on their hopes.

 

 

A character named Quest is eager to find a big sack of cash and it’s you, who has to help him using tools to find that secret treasure. You can see item list present on the sidebar and you need to click it to place it on the floor and use in different ways during Quest’s journey. The only obstacle between Quest and his treasure hunt is the locked door for which you have to find the key. With the progress in the levels, things will become much harder for you to understand. Pressure plates, angry monsters and pitfalls will be there between you and the success.

With the increase in difficulty level and addition of new hurdles and items, you will never feel unfair at any level in this game. All the levels of Talesworth adventure game are terrifically designed and you may find it hard to complete the challenge at every level. Talesworth Adventure has more than 30 levels along with 3 bonus maps. Complete story is puzzle based where you have to apply your imaginative skills to help the Quest for his treasure hunt. Once you get to know about the implementation of the items, you will find the challenge a bit easy to complete.

The game could have been more challenging if they added more elements for placing. The number of the levels is just too much and each level is almost like the other, just with a different layout. If we talk about graphical representation of the game, you may be disappointed a bit as the logo in the background and the pixilated dragon that appears on the menu screen is not that eye catching. It all the graphics of the game have been blended together, it would have raised the quality of game to certain level. For any story based adventurous puzzle game, sound effect and music has to be well defined. Audio sound has to perfectly match the game theme. Unfortunately, here the volume level is too low and even if you set the volume level to 100%, you may find it hard to listen to the sound clearly.

Though, all the story based puzzle game requires clear specification of the titles, here you may not be pleased with the kind of specification developers have given for the titles. For example, instead of giving prior information to the player about the hidden items, it would have been better if they overlooked the position and get to know about the location through “trial and error” mode.
