You can play this game with your kids while dropping them to their school. Rules are quite easy: Person will score 1 point when he/she see a yellow hummer, Volkswagen, 2 points for yellow corvette, 3 points for yellow boat and 10 points for yellow Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche as its hard to find such cars in yellow color.

License Plate Game: Yes, this game can be played on the highway while going for a long drive. To play this game, you should keep the track of total number of out-of-state number plate you have seen. For every such plate, you will score 1 point. For example: If you are in Karnataka and you see an Andhra Pradesh number plate, you will get a point. You can check the number plate for semi-trucks and transports vehicles as they usually travels across different states and you might score pretty well in that case.

The ABC Game: This is the game that needs to be played in complete coordination. In this game, no one wins but to reach the goal, everyone should play as a team. Your ultimate goal will be to find BILLBOARDS ONLY words that start with an alphabet on which you are currently. For example, if you are on ‘E’ alphabet and you see an ‘Elephant’ word, you have to call everyone and show the place where you have seen the word. In this way, you have to complete all the 26 alphabets before you reach your destination.

The Artist Game: To play this game, you require a radio. Now tune-in to the radio channel that your whole family who are travelling knows very well. Music could be Oldies, Rock, Rap, Classical, Hindi or Christian. Now for every song that is currently played on the radio channel, the person has to tell the name of the artist who has sung the song. Every correct answer will add 1 point in your favor. At the end, count the points of every single person individually and the person with most points wins.

To play this game, you need to have at least 4 bright color Baskets, enough number of Frisbees, a paper and pencil to write down the score. Place all the 4 baskets far enough so that you get plenty of space to throw Frisbees. Rules are very simple, just like you play in the standard golf game here too each player will get a chance to throw the Frisbee towards the basket. After each player has thrown it, continue to throw the Frisbee for the second time and keep doing this until all the players Frisbee landed inside the basket. The player with minimum number of throws will be the winner.

 

Mummy Wrap: This game is based on ancient theme of mummies. For this game, you need to have 3 or 6 rolls of toilet papers. Make two groups of 3 people each and give them roll of toilet paper. Two players from each team have to wrap the third member of the team with the toilet paper. Make sure that the person you are wrapping looks like mummy. The team that finishes first and has wrapped the paper perfectly will be the winner. In order to select the winning team you can take vote of all the other non participating members who by seeing the wrapped up mummies can cast their vote.

 

Pie in the Face: This is a very interesting game and to win this game one has to be very fast at eating. You need few pie pans, limited round paper. Write a word on a round piece of paper and put it into the pie pan. Fill your pie pan either with pie or white cream to give it a pie look. As the whistle blows, participants have to eat through the cream in order to reach the word. The person who reads the word first will be the winner. Make sure that any of the participants does not use their hands.

 

Charades: This is one of the oldest picnic games for adults. To play this game, you have to select a theme like movies, celebrities and animals etc. Once the theme has been decided, ask each guest to write down the name of person or thing that is related to the theme on a piece of paper. Collect all the papers and shuffle it well and let each guest select what they have to act. Select any of the volunteer to start the game and try to guess the name of the person or thing that he is going to perform. The person who guesses the name correctly will be the next performer.

 

Limbo: If your picnic location is near beach or river side, Limbo is the best game to play. With a yardstick and upbeat music, you can play this game and any number of participants can play this game. If you want to test your flexibility, this is the best game to do that. In the beginning you can ask two people to hold the stick at some height. As the music beat starts, you have to walk under the stick and make sure that at first round, you put the stick at such height that every body can clear it. Once everybody is clear, lower the yardstick up to certain inches and again start walking under the stick without touching it. As the stick gets lower, participants have to bend their body in order to move under the stick. While doing this one has to be sure that they do not touch the stick and should not fall on the ground as by doing any of these things, they will get disqualified.

Outdoor Games for Birthday Party

In this game every child has to tuck sock in their back pocket and as soon as the whistle blows, one player has to grab the tail of other player and protect his own tail from losing. If any player loses the tail, he/she has to sit down and if any player passes nearby, the tail less player can grab the tail of that player and can re-enter the game. This game is best for the animal theme game.

For water theme, you can go with “Tug of Water”. Goal of this game is to drag the opposite team towards the sprinkle water. Team who will succeed in dragging the opposite team will be the winner. If you want to add sporty touch to your birthday party, you can add Jump Rope Relay. Divide players in two teams and give a rope to each team. On the blow of whistle, first player of both the team have to race to the end line and have to come back to the start line by skipping the rope continuously. Once the player reaches the starting line they have to give rope to another team mate and the race continues till the final winning team is declared.

Treasure Hunt is another game that every child would love to play as they have an excitement of exploring the treasure as they have seen in movies or heard in stories. In order to set this game, you have to hide things like candies, soft toys, chocolates in the garden and ask the children to find those items. In order to boost them up, you can keep some spare items with you and can throw them at some place where kids can find it. In this way, their hope of finding more treasures will grow.

If you want to add puzzle solving game in the birthday party, Balloon Popping will be the best option. Put matching puzzle pieces in the balloon and fill air in it. Then hide or hang the balloons at different places and ask both the teams to search for the balloons and complete the puzzle. You can reward the winning team with chocolates or other small gifts. Another interesting game is Fruit Roll Up and for this game you need to have easy to hang sweets, fruits, string, mini clothes. Tie both the hands of participants with the piece of cloth and ask them to stand on the start line. At the finish line hang all the fruits and sweets using string. As soon as participants hear the whistle sound they have to run and reach the finish line and grab either sweet or fruit whatever they want using mouth. The one who will do the task first will be declared the winner.
