American football video games

Football is a great sport, and it has managed to replace baseball as the number one sport in America. Up until a few year ago, football or American football, for the rest of the world, has been a sport created by the Americans for Americans, but this is no longer the case. Football is slowly becoming more and more popular, as amateur leagues are starting to develop all over the world, from Asia to Europe, and even Africa. Since the game is pretty hard to play, as it is a physical sport, many people prefer whether to watch it or to virtually play it. There are many American football video games available for purchase, but the leader of these games is represented by the Madden series.

The Madden series have been first introduced more than 15 years ago, and they are still continuing to be popular even now. One of the reasons for this is the fact that EA Sports, the company which produces the games have an agreement with the NFL which is the main league of American football in the United States. Because of that only EA has the right of creating a game which features the real NFL teams and players.

The Madden NFL series is released each year, each version being an update of the previous one, in the sense that with each passing year the game is improved, whether in the graphics domain, or in gameplay, multiplayer, and so on. The Madden series have an extremely realistic graphics, the players on the game resembling the real ones a lot. The gameplay of the Madden series is great but quite frankly it could be improved. The game has various glitches and some bugs which can be exploited and which can ruin the enjoyment of playing the game especially in multiplayer.

An addition to the game is the Superstar mode, which was first introduced in Madden 2006, but since then it has constantly been updated and upgraded. Superstar mode is a mode which allows you to create your own player and then guide him through his career. You can choose whatever position you like, and after certain drills you will head up to the NFL draft. The way in which you play the game is very important and that is the most important thing in your progress to becoming the next Lawrence Taylor, or Bob Sanders.

Another popular American football video game is the NCAA series and once again, EA has full exclusivity to it. This game features the college teams and players and it is very similar to the Madden series, with some minor differences in game play and in presentation. These two are the most popular American football games.
