The series are following the adventures of the main character Aang and his friends, and they must save the world from the evil Fire Lord. The show was quite appreciated by the us kids, and is running from 2005 until today. It had millions of viewers among the 6-11 years old kids, and it also receives some awards. The first part of a trilogy movie called The Last Airblender is expected to be released in July 2010.

There are many merchandises inspired by the cartoon series, such as action figures, trading cards, stuffed animals, LEGO sets, books and also some video games. Today we are going to talk about some free online Avatar games, and we’ll begin with the one called “Avatar Arena”. Your objective in this game is to create your own character and challenge the world’s best benders and defeat them. You have to use the arrow keys and the space bar to control your player, and each of the nations will have different combinations of controls, and you will find all of them at the game instructions. After choosing your nation you will be able to make your custom player.

The nations don’t seem to have any names, but each one will have a different symbol. When creating your player you will be able to change his head aspect, his arms, his body, and his legs. Now let’s choose another game inspired by the cartoon the series, which is “Avatar Fortress Fight”. In this one you have to destroy your opponents fortress in battle before the destroy your fortress. To control the game you will have to use only the mouse. First choose your projectile type and move the mouse to pick an angle. Then hold down the left mouse button to select the power, and release the mouse button to shoot. Each weapon (projectile) has its own damage and accuracy proprieties. Remember that you can’t use the same projectile two times in a row. Use the look feature to locate the power ups that are somewhere in the air, and fire through them to reduce the damage made to your fortress or to make even more damage to the fortress of your opponent. You can play this game both in 1 or 2 players.

So you can play it with a friend and see which one of you is the best. There are 3 types of fortresses to choose from : earth, water or fire. First click on the “look” button to approximate the distance and angle of the shoot, and only then begin the throwing process. In the lower part of the screen you will see the damage made to each fortress, and of course the one to receive full damage first will lose the game. So after all this game is really fun, especially when played in 2 players .



There is also a second version of this game, which is simply called” “Avatar Fortress 2”. The rules of the game are pretty much the same, only that the graphic and game play are improved. There are new weapons, new power ups and also the game play is better and easier. When throwing a projectile you will be able to see the whole image from further away, so there is no need for that “look” feature, and you will be able to hit the opponent much easier. Now let’s move on to another fun puzzle game, for example Bloxorz. The aim of this game is to get the block to fall into the square hole at the end of each stage. There are 33 stages to complete. To move your block around the track simply use the arrow keys, and be careful to no fall of the edges, because you will restart that level again. In many levels you will find bridges and switches. To activate a switch you simply have to step with your block over it. You don’t need to remain on a switch with your block to keep the bridges closed, it is enough to press it once.

You will find 2 types of switches: the soft round ones and the heavy x shaped switches. The soft switches will be activated when any part of your block presses them. But the hard switches require a few more pressure, so your block must be standing on its end to activate it. But not all the switches behave the same way. Some of them will make the bridges to open, and when they are pressed again they will make them to close. But others will only make a bridge to open, and you won’t be able to close it after that.



The green or red colored squares will flash to let you know which bridges are being operated. The orange tiles are a little more fragile than the rest, and if your block will stand up vertically on an orange tile, the tile will give up and your block will fall down. The third and last type of switches are the ones with this shape: (). These will teleport your block from place to place, and split it into two smaller blocks. You will be able to control these blocks individually, and when you get them one next to the other they will join back in one piece again. The small blocks are able to operate the soft switches, but they are not heavy enough the activate the heavy ones.

Also the small blocks can not complete a level, and you will have to get your entire block together to complete a level. You will be given a passcode for each level, so try to write it somewhere, so when the game is over you can play directly from that stage, rather than starting the game all over again. Just go to “Load stage”, type the 6 digit level code and you will play from that level.
