How to Survive Game Review

Want to remove your frustration? How about picking up a baseball bat of your choice and bursting out zombie's skull. Killing zombies were never as much fun performing tasks as it is in "How to Survive" game.

You will always find yourself just a quick jog away from handling zombies. After surviving a couple of levels, you will get access to healing plant that acts as a minor health boost when used with fabric so as to make an effective poultice. While making poultices, time freezes, so you don't have to worry about it.

Crafting weapons on your own is more exciting than finding blueprints. Along with a rifle that can kill almost any damn thing in a single shot, you will also get unlimited supply of ammo. Combat may not be that much great, but it is acceptable for sure. Targeting popping zombies is an easy task to perform. Nocturnal zombies are the most pathetic one, who travel at night and once you shine torch on them, they will either freeze or run, making it easier for you to take the shot. The zombies here have been shown more powerful and effective. They appear all of a sudden out of nowhere and do serious damage.

How to Survive

However, Zombies don't evolve much in this game. They are portrayed weaker than the player, who can go handling from one to an entire group of zombies without putting-in much effort. The whole concept of How to Survive is wrapped up with some challenge maps and horrifying story modes. Also there is an option of bringing a co-player for helping you out for local and online challenges by selecting any of the three available characters to choose from. There is a main event where you have to spend up to 7 hours, just to repair a sea plane. In addition to the missing surprises and a few characters, even the writing is done poorly and is edited. There are certain things that are added in this game with no point of needing it. One of such things is the concept of introducing talking monkeys. Also when the game has reached toward a politely ending, a 20 item scavenger hunt makes no sense at that point of time.

There are not many funny moments to enjoy in this game. Even the horror portion seems to be missing most of the times. The interesting idea of making Zombie based game goes in vain. It could perhaps have become much more realistic game if all the storyline, characters and other action related stuffs were framed as per the requirements. In short, the game could have been neater.

The problem is not about what is there in the game, but it's about what is missing. Developers tried to create something functional, but not desirable. With so many zombie related games out there, developers really have to come up with some unique idea in order to avoid becoming a part of the horde.

If you haven't played any Zombie related game, "How to Survive" could be the one to start with.

LEGO City Underworld

The LEGO City Undercover game is pictured in an open-sandbox world. In this game, players will be playing the character of a cop named Chaise McCain who is free to run in the LEGO city, filled with colors of distractions, pedestrians, cars and other collectible items to grab.

LEGO City Underworld

The game begins with a search mission where McCain moves around the city looking for a criminal Rex Fury and has to complete several missions in between. In order to get closer to the target and enter into LEGO City's underworld, McCain has to pose himself as a crook. The story line is filled with silly humor and stupid jokes that will make you laugh out loud.

The surface-level presentation is what makes this City Undercover game more stronger. Vocal cast is simply superb and an excellent soundtrack makes this game even more interesting to play. The game is well designed and has lots of things to collect, build bricks and start "Super Build" construction. You will be able to unlock tons of costumes and vehicles. The environment of this game is favored with your ability to jump across the car, ride on animals and destroy scenery. But when you will be engaged in the real story mode all your excitement will go in vain. Starting missions involve several chases through the city, followed by some detective work, giving you the same feel of running from room to room, breaking and building things, sufficient enough to make you puzzled. It's not that the gameplay is bad or something, it looks more similar to old LEGO adventures with an addition of sandbox elements. Apart from this disappointment factor, the classic framework of the game will give you consistent entertainment.

Justifying its title (Undercover), the game is all about disguise and moving ahead. Chase will unlock several costumes, each with unique skills. As a fireman, you can open the barricaded doors, as a farmer you can water potted plants to make climbable surface, as a robber you can use a crowbar to get through the doors. Switching between these costumes will help you to clear several levels. Whether its performing running stunts using simple button controls, scaling buildings or spying criminals, the LEGO City Undercover is genuinely blessed with new ideas and you will be enjoying some great fun time. Mostly, GamePad will be used to scan areas for secret dialogs and hidden items. The game is filled with funny incidents as well. There will be a time when McCain will be simply moving around the streets in between missions and will be looking for pigs to fire it out of cannons to ramp off the blocked areas and get access to new costumes.

Even though the controls are stiff, destroying the environment to earn a number of bricks helps in balancing the excessive stiffness of the gaming controls. So even if the car that you are driving is skidding out of control, you will be rewarded with points for that as well. There are certain technical limitations in this game that can hold back your experience. The loading time between the environments is quite lengthy and while navigating the city streets, you will experience frame rate dips as well.

Overall, The LEGO City Undercover is a fun filled game that has the story element to grab the audience across the world. Even though it may lack "Replay Value" due to some hard-to-ignore issues, but the funny animated gaming environment will somehow balance your overall gaming experience.

Has Console Killed PC Gaming

Increase in use of gaming console have put PC gaming somewhere behind. Whenever we talk about high graphics game, first thing that comes in the mind of gamers and developers is gaming console.

PC gaming market does not look that much healthy to compete with gaming consoles. Very possible reason could be PC hardware. Latest games require latest hardware configurations and that is not easy to be found in every PC that is why gamers are switching towards gaming console as it matches the basic requirements by any high graphics game. Integrated graphic features available in PC are of no use for gamers who like to play highly animated games. Another problem with the motherboard of PC is absence of AGP or PCIE slot that makes it impossible to add external graphics card. No one will go for such computer system that does not even support normal graphic games. Gaming consoles like PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 are designed in such a way that they support almost all kind of 2D, 3D games without any problem.

If you want, you can enhance the gaming features of your PC by adding required hardware and software to it but that is not very cost effective. You can’t get PC on cheap price and after that if you need to spend another few bucks just to upgrade your PC for gaming, it’s of no use. Instead you can use the same amount to buy a good quality and branded gaming console with warranty. Gaming console has rare chance for upgrading its configuration or software but we can’t say the same in case of PC. In computer’s world, configuration keeps changing frequently. Hardware keeps becoming more advanced and games become more in demand. That makes most of the gamers to think that they need new PC with good configuration in order to play new 3D or high graphic games.

You can keep upgrading your PC by adding RAM, video card, graphic card but as your system ages you need to change the processor and that is like buying a new PC again. For most of us PC could be the best platform for gaming but such category can get extinct if proper hardware and better configuration PC s are not available at affordable price. Some changes need to be done in PCs so that like gaming consoles, PCs too should be upgraded very rarely especially for gaming. Gaming consoles are graphically very much attractive and they come with online components that are quite cheap to buy. I am sure that if you search on the net for the best gaming device option you will never get one within your budget and requirement.

In order to bring back the same age of PC gaming, manufacturers have to think from gaming point of view or else that day is not far when people would know that only possible device available for gaming is console device and not PC.
